i’m a new convert to the book purse. i never saw one until a few months ago in a magazine artilce. i had no idea how much information is on the internet about them. i’ve been struggling to work out details, and lo and behold, many folks have already figured it out. thanks, one and all. i even can put a name to my love–i’m a self-described altered book artist. i’m ready to retire and folks ask, “what will you do with yourself?” now i can say i plan to be a full-time altered book artist! Hopefully, i’ll be able to suppliment my social security dollars, too.

My mom and I read all the time and when I first tired to cut the book out of the cover I almost cried but once I made the purse I can’t seem to stop at one and have decided all my sisters are getting this purse for Christmas presents!!! Thank you so much for sharing your gift with me and others.

@chidori: Thanks for the comment on the sakura. I really miss that time of the year in japan, so magical, so ephemeral… esp when the wind blows and all the petals are swept up in the wind, like a snowfall that doesn’t melt.
