Stone Mountain Daughters. Berkeley. My favorite place to shop locally.
Lacis Berkeley. Not exactly a fabric shop per say, but they have a lot of hardware related to garment construction, such as boning, hoops, purse frames, etc. Oh, and of course they have lace.
Piedmont Fabrics Piedmont Ave. This opened up when, sniff, Poppy's closed. Sniff.
Discount Fabrics West Berkeley. Same chain as the ones in SF.
Super Longs. Yes, you can buy fabric (and other sewing stuff/yarn) at Longs. TWENTY-FOUR HOURS A DAY, People!! Pleasant valley X broadway, Oakland. This is great for my midnight sewing madness, I will be extremely sad when they close (rumored to be end of 2010).
SAN FRANCISCO FABRIC STORES:
Britex Fabrics, Downtown SF. Pricey but oh my what a selection.
Fabric Outlet, Mission. I like this one because they are cheap and close to bart!
Fabrix, Clement area. You can find super cheap things here if you look. A bit of trek for me though.
China town fabric store. Sorry, I will have to look up the name and address. The last time I was there, they had alexander hamilton fabrics that was discontinued three years ago for $4/yd!!
Discount Fabrics, There are two in SF in addition to the one berkeley.
Mendels. Haight. They are not a strict fabric shop, but an art supply store that carries fabric. They have some cool prints and faux fur.
Satin Moon. Clement. Pricey pretty fabric, but at that price, the selection at Britex is better.
Peapod Fabrics, Sunsest. Lots of pretty cotton prints
ONLINE FABRIC STORES:
ReproDepot.Super cute cotton prints
Superbuzzy Lots o japanese prints, makes me feel like I was back at Tomato in Tokyo.
